About the Author

Camille La Bossière was born in Port Alberni, British Columbia, and raised in Saint-Boniface, Manotiba, after completing a B.A. at Iona College, New Rochelle, in New York. He worked for the Commission Scolaire Catholique de Montréal before taking up graduate studies in the Department of English Language and Literature at the Memorial University of Newfoundland. Teaching in the Department of English and Philosophy at the Royal Roads Military College of Canada (1970-79) afforded him the opportunity to return to a traditional curriculum. He currently teaches and directs graduate research in the Department of English at the University of Ottawa, mostly in Canadian, American and European comparative literature, the history of criticism and literary theory. He has been a professor since 1983.
