       About the Author:
John Bejermi began his career at fourteen as a House of Commons Page. His educational background includes political science and business administration. Hislove of Parliament led to his creating and teaching a course at Algonquin College in Ottawa on How Parliament Works, as well as producing and hosting the longest running openline live politicalcall-in show Openline Politics on community cablevision. His The Canadian Parliamentary Handbook / le Répertoire parlementaire canadien is the only annual reference book in Canada containing individual photographs, detailed constituency data, and committee service information, as well as other valuable information about eachParliamentarian.
When first released in 1982, the book was so well received by Parliament that the Senate and the House passed separate motions of congratulations. John isone of the few House of Commons employees in the history of Parliament to have received such rare unanimous congratulations from both Houses.
His life ambition has been to inform Canadians about their Parliament. He strongly believes that when Canadians understand their Parliament, they are able touse it effectively.
