Biography

Betty Merrifield graduated from Sheridan College with a diploma in Animation. Her artwork can be found on various articles. She has painted on Muskoka chairs, maple syrup pails, canoe paddles, T shirts and figure skates. Over the years her volunteering has lead to creating posters and props and painting the local hockey team's logo at center ice. She is the artist behind some of the amazing scarecrows that appear each fall in Meaford where she lives with her husband, daughter, son and border collie. Betty was born in Peterborough, Ontario, where as a child spent summer catching and playing with frogs in the pond nearby. She is thrilled to paint her first children's book.
